The Daily Rant for 10-9-00 October 9, 2000

"Childhood Memories"

Wow, two rants in a span of three days. That’s a first. Even though it is called the Daily Rant, I usually write one every other week or something like that. I’m bored, what can I say. Today is one of my two days off of work and I choose to write this. I’m just sitting here chillin’, listening to some Nine Inch Nails. Trent Reznor (NIN guy) is releasing a remix CD of the Fragile at the end of November. Should be pretty cool. Anyways, today was Monday. Everybody hates Mondays. I don’t. Monday to me means no work so that makes me happy. I get to sit home and do nothing. Now that’s what I call fun. Well, I need to find something to write about. Ok, I got something, my childhood. How much fun is that? Very because I was a weird kid. Here we go:

One of the funny things in my childhood was my first word. Now most people’s first words were something along the lines of “Mama” or “Dada” or something like that. Mine was “cracker”. I was a hungry baby. I thought of food very often. Heck, when I was born, I weighed 10 pounds. Yeesh. Anyways, yep, cracker was my first word. I loved crackers. They were awesome. I still love crackers. The salad crackers are my favorite. I think they are called Captain’s Wafers or something like that. When I was little, I did have a taste for weird things. I was one of the few kids who liked any type of vegetables. You know, like broccoli, spinach, and especially brussell sprouts. I loved them. Nobody else I knew liked them that much. I also had a taste for something that nobody liked. When I was 3 or 4 or 5 or some age that was young(not last year Sheena)I drank some Old Spice cologne. I don’t know why I did it. The cologne was in this colorful bottle that just appealed to me I guess. I bet I thought it was Kool-Aid or some kind of juice like that. That next day, I was sick as a dog. Yeesh I was sick. But I also have to mention that all of the preschool girls started hanging out with me for like a week because I smelled so nice. Yeah, right.

I was also a suicidal youngster. I tried choking myself one night when I was 5 or 6. I had this little Robo-Cop figure whose helmet came off of his head. Well, one night I tried choking myself by swallowing it. Yet again, don’t ask me why I did that. Speaking of swallowing things, when I was 3 I think I swallowed a nickel. I probably thought I was a bubble gum machine. Hahahaha, anyway.

Did you ever think your life was a TV show? I did. I always thought there were cameras hidden in my house and some family was watching me on their TV. I think at one point everybody thought that. Speaking of TV, it corrupted some of my dreams. Once I had a dream about Freddy Krueger, the killer from Nightmare on Elm Street. See, the funny thing is, his character killed people in their dreams so.........that was kind of scary. I also had a dream about a G.I. Joe. He was looking for some monster and he thought that the monster was me. Well he started chasing me, so I ran to my parents. They just ignored me. So I ran into the garage and these little chomping teeth with feet were running around on the floor. All of a sudden they jumped up and bit me in the crotch. OUCH!!!! I think I had that same dream the next night. Creepy and of course once again, OUCH!!!!

I loved Saturday morning cartoons. Today, they’re not the same as they used to be. Man, you had your Muppet Babies, He-Man, Thundercats, COPS, Silverhawks, Ghostbusters, and all sorts of cool cartoons. Do you guys remember Slimer from Ghostbusters? That little dude came out with his own flavor of drink. I think Hi-C made it. I used to drink it all of the time, good ole Slimer Hi-C. I was a big Batman fan too. I remember when the movie came out. It was awesome. I had the Batcave, Batmobile, Batwing, Batvan, and everything Bat. Ooooo, oooo, what about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? I loved them. I had like every figure. I had the Party Wagon and the blimp and the sewer playset. I was a big turtle fan. Well, I’m done rambling about childhood memories. If you have any that you want to share with me, send them to erickeith@hotmail.com. Other than that, I’m gone. See ya.

By the way, if any of you guys have Yahoo! Messenger or MSN Messenger, you can contact me on there if I'm online. My Yahoo name is erickeith15 and my MSN name is erickeith. I very original in choosing my screen names. Well, now I'm gone dudes.
