Dark clouds surround my sun
Hiding the light from everyone
Rain begins to fall, lightning strikes
Thunder rolls with a sound no one likes
Will the rain wash away the dirt?
Will it take away what hurts?
Life seems so far away
Are these clouds here to stay?
I cannot see where I'm going
I just feel like a puppet on a string
Others lead me in the directions I go
I am pulled away by their undertow
The clouds still remain, as I sit all alone
I sit still, just as a stone
It is dark and cold where I lay
Still, I am here day by day
I fear to take my stand
I fear to revolt against their command
All I need to find is the heart
Then my revolt will have a start
I become brave, I become my own
I now feel an emotion I've never known
I feel happiness, realizing I have won
